A.Lamp Concrete Contractors completed all water services along Mickey Lane this week. All residents along Burr Oak Drive and Mickey Lane are now connected to the new water main.  The contractor has also performed several connections to the existing water mains and disconnections from the old water mains.

There have been numerous water main shut-downs over the past week due to water service connections, connecting the new water main, and disconnecting the old water mains.  Thank you again for your patience and understanding during this process.

Next week the contractor anticipates performing some miscellaneous tasks such as sewer televising, removing old fire hydrants and valves, and site clean-up.

Once all of the underground work is complete, the contractor will begin scheduling and preparing for concrete curb & gutter replacement and trench paving.

The entire roadway along Mickey Lane and Burr Oak Drive will be resurfaced as part of the Village’s 2012 resurfacing project. This work is anticipated to be completed in late August or early September.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors continued to install water services along Burr Oak Drive this week. The contractor also performed pressure testing and bacteria testing along the Mickey Lane water main.

Next week A. Lamp Concrete Contractors will install the water services along Mickey Lane once all tests have passed. The contractor is anticipating to perform water main connections and disconnections between the new and old water mains.  This work will require the water main to be shut-down for approximately 4-6 hours at various times. Residents will be notified 24-hours in advance of any water main shut-down.

During the water service installation the contractor will be required to transfer the individual water services for each home from the old main to the new main.  The morning of the water service work, the contractor will knock on your door to notify you of the pending water shutoff and give you ample time to use your water.  The shutoff will last for 1 to 2 hours on average.  Once installed, they will ask you to flush your system, and if no one is home, they will use an outside hose bib connection to flush the new service.  If you have discolored water, please open your faucets and flush out the lines and water should clear up.

Getting around the neighborhood will also be a little more difficult because the contractor will be open cutting across the roadway to install many of the water services and to make the water main connections and disconnections.  Roadway and driveway access will be restored as soon as possible and at the end of each working day.

Thank you for your patience during the entire construction process and upcoming water main shut-downs.
