Work Completed

The project is now completed with the exception of a few minor repairs to be completed by the contractor.

This is the last blog update that will be provided for this project.

We appreciate you taking the time to read this blog.

We hope this was a valuable resource for you following the progress of work completed and what work was scheduled in the coming weeks.

A. Lamp last week completed sod restoration, manholes repairs, and miscellaneous other work in the parkway.

The project is nearly complete. There are only minor items remaining to be completed.

A. Lamp performed asphalt driveway restorations this past week. The contractor also began grading and installing topsoil in preparation for sod.

The contractor has requested, and been granted, permission for an early start on Saturday, September 22nd.  The contractor will start at 8:00 AM to perform grading and installation of topsoil in preparation for sod.

Next week the contractor will perform manhole repairs in the parkways and perform other miscellaneous repairs. 

Next week the contractor is also scheduled to begin installing sod on Thursday.

As part of the 2012 Resurfacing Project, Arrow Road Construction completed asphalt paving of Burr Oak Drive and Mickey Lane this week.

The contractor is anticipating to begin sod restoration, asphalt driveway restoration, and general site clean-up in the near future.

The entire roadway along Mickey Lane and Burr Oak Drive will be resurfaced as part of the Village’s 2012 resurfacing project. This work is anticipated to be completed next week.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors did not perform any work on-site this week.   

The contractor will work on asphalt trench paving next week.

The entire roadway along Mickey Lane and Burr Oak Drive will be resurfaced as part of the Village’s 2012 resurfacing project. This work is anticipated to be completed within the next two weeks.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors has completed most of the concrete curb & gutter replacement along Mickey Lane and Burr Oak Drive, with a few areas around catch basins remaining.  

Driveways are anticipated to be re-opened by Monday, August 20th.

The contractor also started installing asphalt patches in the existing gravel trenches. Last week the contractor completed the work along Mickey Lane, next week the contractor will continue to perform trench patching along Burr Oak Drive.

The entire roadway along Mickey Lane and Burr Oak Drive will be resurfaced as part of the Village’s 2012 resurfacing project. This work is anticipated to be completed in late August or early September.

Thank you for all of your patience as getting around the neighborhood has been challenging the last few weeks and for those residents who were inconvenienced due to concrete curb & gutter repairs in front of their driveways and yards.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors has completed all of the underground utility improvements along Burr Oak Drive and Mickey Lane.

The contractor has started to remove portions of the existing curb & gutter along the roadway. Next week the contractor will install  new concrete curb & gutter in the affected areas. Residents will be notified prior to concrete work if your driveway access will be restricted.

Following concrete curb & gutter replacement, the contractor will install asphalt patches in all of the gravel trenches.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors has completed all of the underground utility improvements along Burr Oak Drive and Mickey Lane.

Next week the contractor anticipates performing the concrete curb & gutter replacement along the project site. Residents will be notified prior to concrete work starting and if your driveway access will be restricted. The contractor will also be performing some miscellaneous tasks such as sewer televising and general site clean-up.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors completed all water services along Mickey Lane this week. All residents along Burr Oak Drive and Mickey Lane are now connected to the new water main.  The contractor has also performed several connections to the existing water mains and disconnections from the old water mains.

There have been numerous water main shut-downs over the past week due to water service connections, connecting the new water main, and disconnecting the old water mains.  Thank you again for your patience and understanding during this process.

Next week the contractor anticipates performing some miscellaneous tasks such as sewer televising, removing old fire hydrants and valves, and site clean-up.

Once all of the underground work is complete, the contractor will begin scheduling and preparing for concrete curb & gutter replacement and trench paving.

The entire roadway along Mickey Lane and Burr Oak Drive will be resurfaced as part of the Village’s 2012 resurfacing project. This work is anticipated to be completed in late August or early September.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors continued to install water services along Burr Oak Drive this week. The contractor also performed pressure testing and bacteria testing along the Mickey Lane water main.

Next week A. Lamp Concrete Contractors will install the water services along Mickey Lane once all tests have passed. The contractor is anticipating to perform water main connections and disconnections between the new and old water mains.  This work will require the water main to be shut-down for approximately 4-6 hours at various times. Residents will be notified 24-hours in advance of any water main shut-down.    

During the water service installation the contractor will be required to transfer the individual water services for each home from the old main to the new main.  The morning of the water service work, the contractor will knock on your door to notify you of the pending water shutoff and give you ample time to use your water.  The shutoff will last for 1 to 2 hours on average.  Once installed, they will ask you to flush your system, and if no one is home, they will use an outside hose bib connection to flush the new service.  If you have discolored water, please open your faucets and flush out the lines and water should clear up.

Getting around the neighborhood will also be a little more difficult because the contractor will be open cutting across the roadway to install many of the water services and to make the water main connections and disconnections.  Roadway and driveway access will be restored as soon as possible and at the end of each working day.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors completed the sanitary sewer replacement along Mickey Lane this week.  The contractor also completed the remaining underground utility spot repairs along the project site. All the required water main testing is completed and has passed.  The contractor has begun installing new water services to connect the homes to the new water main.

Next week A. Lamp Concrete Contractors will continue to install water services along the project site.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors completed the installation of the open cut water main this week, including the pressure test of the new water main along Burr Oak. The contractor will begin disinfecting the new water mains this week and continue next week. The contractor also began the sanitary sewer replacement along Mickey Lane.

Limited work was performed on-site during this past week due to July 4th Holiday and excessive heat.

Next week A. Lamp Concrete Contractors is anticipating to complete the sanitary sewer replacement along Mickey Lane and other sanitary sewer repairs.

Water services are anticipated to begin the week of July 16th. Residents will be notified prior to any disruption in their water service.

All roadway and driveway access will be restored as soon as possible and at the end of each working day.  Thank you in advance for your patience during this process.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors continued to install water main and fire hydrants along the project site including the connection to the existing water main along Sunset Ridge Road.

A. Lamp Concrete Contractors is anticipating to complete the open cut water main installation next week, along with disinfecting and testing the new water main.  The contractor also anticipates working on the sanitary sewer replacement along Mickey Lane.

A.Lamp Concrete Contractors began open cut water main installation along Mickey Lane and Burr Oak.  Water main testing is anticipated to begin late next week.

We do not anticipate any water shut-downs in the next week.  The first anticipated water shut down will occur when the individual water services are installed. Notification will be given prior to shutting the water off to your residence.  Water services are not scheduled to begin until after the July 4th Holiday.

Although we do not anticipate any water main shut-downs, the possibly always exist for an emergency shut-down.  In these instances, you will be notified as soon as possible.

A. Lamp Concrete Contractors will continue to perform open cut water main installation, sanitary sewer replacement along Mickey Lane, and underground utility repairs during the next week.

RJ Underground completed the directional drilling of the 8-inch PVC water main along the project site. A. Lamp Concrete Contractors began underground utility repairs and open cut water main installation.

A. Lamp Concrete Contractors will continue to perform open cut water main installation, sanitary sewer replacement along Mickey Lane, and underground utility repairs.

During the open cut water main, sanitary sewer installation, and utility repairs, getting around the neighborhood will be a little more difficult due to space required to perform this work.  Driveway access may also be restricted during this work.  Residents will be notified prior to driveway access being restricted.

This week RJ Underground began directional drilling and installing water main on Burr Oak Drive from the intersection of Burr Oak Drive and Mickey Lane to the south.  On Friday, RJ Underground began directional drilling from the intersection of Mickey Lane and Winnetka Road towards the south.  Next week RJ Underground is scheduled to continue directional drilling on Mickey Lane and Burr Oak Drive.

Directional drilling has begun.

Last week A. Lamp Concrete Construction began making small excavations at the location of existing utilities to verify location.  RJ Underground was also onsite, as a subcontractor to A. Lamp, beginning to directionally drill the new water main on Mickey Lane at the intersection of Burr Oak Drive and Mickey Lane.  On Friday, RJ Underground pulled a section of new water main into the ground at the intersection of Burr Oak and Mickey.  Next week RJ Underground is scheduled to continue directional drilling of the new water main on Burr Oak Drive from Mickey Lane to the south.

Construction begins next week.

A. Lamp Concrete Contractors is schedule to begin construction of the proposed water main on Burr Oak Drive next week.  The current schedule indicates that A. Lamp will begin excavation of pits for directional drilling of the new water main on Wednesday and a subcontractor will begin directional drilling of the water main on Thursday and Friday.
